EasyGate mobile app · last updated 22 September 2026
EasyGate is published by Jordanian Private Jets Services (JPJETS). This page explains exactly what the app stores about you, why, who else can see it, and how to remove it. It covers the EasyGate app for iPhone, iPad and Android, and the services behind it.
Using EasyGate without an account
Airport guides, maps, search, prayer times and announcements all work without signing in. In that case we do not know who you are. Our server still receives the ordinary details every internet request carries, such as your IP address and the app version, and we count which guides are opened (see Usage statistics).
If you allow notifications without an account, your device is subscribed to a general announcements channel by language. That subscription is handled by Firebase Cloud Messaging and is not tied to a name or an email address.
Your account
Creating an account stores:
- your first and last name, and your email address;
- your password, kept only as a bcrypt hash — we never store or see the password itself;
- your phone number and profile photo, if you choose to add them;
- your language and appearance (light or dark) settings;
- when you were last active, and which platform and app version you last used.
We use this to sign you in, to show your profile in the app and in chat, and to contact you about your account. We do not send marketing email.
Favourite and downloaded airports
The airports you mark as favourites, and the ones you download for offline use, are stored with your account so they follow you to a new device. Downloaded airport content itself stays on your device.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, we store a push token for each of your devices, along with the platform, app version, operating system version and language of that device. We use them to send announcements from the EasyGate team, chat-related notices, and messages about your account. Notifications sent to you are also kept in the app's notification list until you or we delete them. Turning notifications off in your device settings, or signing out, stops them.
Your approximate location (optional)
The app can ask to share your location with the chat moderators, so that your country's chat room can be suggested to you and kept safe. This is off unless you turn it on, and it is deliberately coarse:
- the position is rounded to about one kilometre before it is stored;
- only your most recent position is kept — there is no location history;
- it is deleted automatically 30 days after it was reported, and immediately when you turn location sharing off or delete your account;
- your country is worked out from the nearest airport in our own catalogue, so your coordinates are not sent to any geocoding or mapping company for this.
Administrators and chat moderators can see this approximate position and the country it resolves to on your profile in our admin panel. You can switch it off at any time in Profile → Privacy & Security.
Chat
EasyGate has a chat room for each country. When you join, your name and profile photo are visible to the other people in the room, together with the messages you send.
- Chat messages are delivered by Stream (Stream.io), our chat provider. They stay in the room for 24 hours and are then removed from it, so nobody in the chat can read them afterwards.
- A copy is kept on EasyGate's own server so that our moderators can look into a report or a complaint about a message after it has left the room. Only moderators can see it, and it is never shown back to other travellers.
- Messages are checked automatically against a blocked-words list and an automatic moderation filter. A message that is flagged, and any message you report, is shown to our moderators with the sender's name.
- Moderators can delete messages, mute, or ban an account from chat, temporarily or permanently, and can see reports about it.
- People you block stop appearing to you; we store which accounts you blocked.
Usage statistics (you can switch these off)
To know which guides are useful and what people look for, we count events such as opening an airport, a terminal, a category or a place, and the words typed into search together with how many results they returned.
- These counts are not linked to your account when you browse guides, because the app makes those requests without signing in.
- Instead of an identifier that follows you, each event carries a short hash that is rebuilt daily, so we can count how many devices used the app on a given day but cannot follow a device from one day to the next.
- Turning Usage analytics off in Profile → Privacy & Security stops your app from being counted at all — the request is marked and the server records nothing.
- Your search history is kept on your device so it can be offered back to you, and you can clear it in the same screen.
Crash reports, performance and app analytics
The app uses Google Firebase for crash reports (Crashlytics), performance measurement and general app analytics. These tell us that a screen crashed or was slow, on which device model and app version. On iPhone and iPad we use the build of Firebase Analytics that does not use Apple's advertising identifier. We do not use this data to advertise to you, and we do not sell it.
What EasyGate's own servers count
Separately from Firebase, the app tells our own servers which parts of it are being used, so we can see which airports and guides are worth keeping up to date and whether the app is working. This is counted, not recorded against you — the record of your own activity is separate, and described in the next section.
- Which airport, terminal, category and place screens were opened, and whether an offline download was started, finished or failed.
- Whether a notification was opened, and whether you allowed notifications at all.
- Whether the app went offline, and whether a download answered instead of the network.
- Requests to our own API that failed, by the shape of the address
(
airports/{id}/bundle) — never the full address. - Steps in getting started: onboarding finished or skipped, a verification code accepted or rejected, a sign-in that failed.
- That a chat room was opened and that a message was sent — never the message.
- That prayer times, weather or the currency converter were opened.
- Which of the two app languages you are reading in, your platform and app version.
What this never includes: your name, email address, phone number, what you typed into search, or anything you wrote in chat. Devices are counted with a key that is regenerated every day, so one day's counts cannot be joined to another day's. The detailed records are deleted after 90 days and only daily totals are kept after that. Turning Usage analytics off in Profile → Privacy & data stops all of it — the app then tells our servers not to count the request at all.
Your activity in the app (version 6.10 and later)
From version 6.10 the app also keeps a record of how you use it, so our team can see where the app works well and where people get stuck, and can help you properly when you contact us. Unlike the counts above, this record is linked to your account when you are signed in.
- Each time you use the app (a session): when it started and ended, how long the app was in front of you, and whether it was opened from a notification or a link.
- Which screens you opened, in order, and how long each one was on screen. Time with the app in the background is not counted.
- What each screen was about, as a reference number only: the airport, terminal, category, place or chat country.
- How far down a place or a list you scrolled.
- What you did, from the same list as above: for example that you added an airport to your favourites, converted a currency, searched (how many letters and how many results — never the words), or that a request failed.
- Your phone's model and system version, the app version and the app language.
What it never includes: what you type into search, anything you write in chat, other travellers' names, your email address or phone number, or your precise location. If you use the app before signing in, that activity is linked to the account you then sign in to or create on the same phone, for up to 7 days before — never if more than one account has been used on that phone.
Who sees it: only members of the EasyGate team who have been given that permission, in our admin panel, and every time one of them opens your activity that is itself recorded. It is used to improve the app and to support you; never for advertising, and it is not sold.
How long: 90 days step by step, a summary of each session for 13 months, and daily totals (time and sessions per day) for 2 years. All of it is deleted when you delete your account, and it is included when you ask us for a copy of your data. Turning Usage analytics off in Profile → Data & privacy stops it at once: nothing more is recorded, and anything not yet sent is discarded on your phone.
Maps
Airport maps are drawn with the Google Maps SDK. When a map is displayed, Google receives the requests needed to render it, under Google's own privacy policy.
Services we rely on
| Service | What it does for EasyGate | What reaches it |
|---|---|---|
| Stream (Stream.io) | Chat rooms, moderation, blocked words | Your chat display name, photo and messages |
| Google Firebase | Push notifications, crash reports, performance, app analytics | Push token, device and app version, crash and usage events |
| Google Maps | Airport and terminal maps | The map requests your device makes |
| Apple App Store, Google Play | Distributing and updating the app | Whatever the store itself collects, under its own policy |
Everything else — your account, favourites, notifications, approximate location, the usage counts and the record of your activity in the app — is stored on EasyGate's own server, which our team administers.
How long we keep things
| Data | Kept |
|---|---|
| Account details, favourites, downloaded airports | Until you delete your account |
| Approximate location | 30 days, or until you turn it off |
| Push tokens | Until you sign out, remove the app or delete your account |
| Chat messages (in the room) | 24 hours after you send them |
| Chat messages (moderators' copy) | Kept as a moderation record; ask us and we will remove yours |
| Individual usage events (the counts) | 90 days |
| Daily totals from those events | Kept as counts only, with nothing that identifies a person |
| Your activity in the app, step by step | 90 days, or until you delete your account |
| A summary of each session (when, how long) | 13 months, or until you delete your account |
| Your daily totals (time and sessions per day) | 2 years, or until you delete your account |
Your choices
- Profile → Privacy & Security: share your location or not, turn usage analytics off (which also stops the record of your activity in the app), clear your search history, see and unblock people you blocked, and sign out of every device at once.
- Notifications: allow or refuse them in your device settings, and choose what you receive in the app's notification settings.
- Your details: change your name, photo, phone number and password in the app at any time.
- A copy of your data, a correction, or deletion: write to it@jpjets.com from the address on your account and we will answer within 30 days.
Deleting your account
In the app, open Profile → My Account → Delete account. Your profile, phone number, photo and location are erased, the record of your activity in the app is deleted, your devices are unsubscribed from notifications, every signed-in session stops working, and your email address is released so it can be used again. Chat messages you sent may remain visible to moderators unless you ask us to remove them as well. Full instructions, including how to ask by email, are on the account deletion page.
Children
EasyGate is meant for travellers and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13. If you believe a child has an account with us, write to it@jpjets.com and we will remove it.
Security
Traffic between the app and our server is encrypted with HTTPS, passwords are stored only as hashes, and access to the admin panel is limited to named accounts with roles that decide what each person may see. No system is perfect, but we treat the data above as something to keep rather than something to share.
Changes to this policy
If we start collecting something new, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will also be announced in the app.
